Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait- That's a Wrap!

By John Langmore

THAT'S A WRAP!

Hard to believe, but after two years, Bud and I just returned from our final trip filming for COWBOYS. It was also the last photos I'll take for my book (I posted a few). This trip took us to the Jordan Valley Big Loop Rodeo and the YP and Spanish Ranch wagons. I'm sad that for the first time in 6 years I don't have a reason to head back out to the next ranch to either photograph or film (I hope I don't go nuts!). Nonetheless, we're all looking forward to heading into the editing room and actually telling the story.

For those of you who have so kindly followed these efforts and written asking when the book and film will be ready, the book should be out this fall and the film early next year. I'll keep you posted about both.

In the meantime, let me just say how immensely grateful I am to all the amazing people I've met over the course of these two projects. Short of marrying and having kids, it's been the best ride of my life. Thanks to you all!

And a special thanks to Bud Force, Feli Funke, Lucas Harger, Tito West, Hank Wisrodt and Jack Woody for your partnership in bringing these projects to life.

John Jackson (and his wife, Renee) never miss their spring wagon. I'm invited only because it's rained every time I've visited.
