In October of 2017 I got the wild hair to start this website hoping it would turn into something. I wasn’t sure what, I just thought I’d see if I could do it, and see where it took me. The last six years have been a wild ride, and I think this thing has definitely turned into something. I am not sure what… but something.
The goal from the beginning was to eventually turn this into a business. While it has turned into something, the one thing I can assure you that it has not turned into, is a business. It resembles more of a thing that I throw my money and time into.
I have thought a lot about how to make this work, while preserving these two goals, 1. to always have the site be free, and 2. Never be beholden to advertisers. So here’s what I came up with: if you find that the work we do here is valuable, and would like it to continue I simply ask that you subscribe. Since I feel that the work done here is important, and I want everyone to be able to read it, all content on the site will remain free. A subscription is just a way for you to pay for the work, and to insure it continues. Where I come from, a lot of deals still get done with handshakes. I trust that if you value the work done here, you will pay for it. I am hoping that the last six years of work that I have done has earned your trust. I am extending my hand, hoping that together we can work on preserving this life that we love so much.

Since some might find the work more valuable than others, I have given you options.
While I have no idea how many subscriptions will sell, I don’t want to make any promises as to how much more content we will do. I do know that what I want to improve most is being more consistent. No more long breaks without posting anything. As I have aged I feel like I have gotten to know myself pretty well. I know I am a lousy salesman and not the greatest businessman. I also know that nothing motivates me more than satisfying paying customers. If the paying customers come, I look forward to being able to consistently create great content. If I can’t do that to my, or your satisfaction I will cancel and refund your subscription.
